Established 1963
An association held together by the people who came through.
The Northgate Alumni Association was chartered in 1963 to keep the register of former students of Northgate and to serve as their common voice. Sixty years on it does both, and this is how.
Charter
What the association exists to do.
The association is a chartered body constituted for the benefit of former students of Northgate, without regard to the year they attended or the length of time they stayed. Membership is open to all such persons, on application, and is not a fee for service.
Its purposes, as recorded in the 1963 constitution and reaffirmed at every AGM since, are to keep and maintain the register of members; to convene the association at intervals it deems appropriate; and to represent the interests of members where those interests are properly the association's to represent.
Principles
Three that hold across everything.
One directory, kept by its members
The association's register has always been the single source of truth for who is a member and how to reach them.
Privacy is not a setting
Each field on your entry carries its own visibility — public, members-only, or private.
Governance, then service
Every decision, every account and every policy passes an elected committee first.
